The design is the interesting half. The install is the half that decides whether you spend a Saturday on a ladder. Here is what actually happens on the day, and how the January side of it gets handled before the season even starts.
What happens on install day
We arrive with the design already decided and, if we sourced them, the materials already bought and sorted by section. The tree gets fluffed properly first, which sounds trivial and is the difference between a full tree and a sparse one.
Then lights if they are needed, ribbon, large florals, mid size ornaments, small glass and picks, topper, base. You do not need to be involved beyond pointing at the room, and everything gets cleared out and the packaging taken away before we leave.
Ladders, heights and access
Anything over roughly eight feet involves a ladder and a second person, which is part of why height moves the price. Tell us on the form if there is anything unusual: a spiral staircase, a lift with a size limit, a gated entry, restricted parking, or a building that requires a certificate of insurance.
None of it is a problem when it is known in advance. All of it is a problem when it is discovered on the doorstep.
Takedown, decided in advance
Takedown is the part everyone forgets until the second week of January, when the tree is still up and nobody wants to deal with it. Ask for it in the notes on the quote form and it is priced alongside the install.
Everything comes off in the reverse order it went on, gets sorted by type rather than thrown in a box, and goes back into storage in a state that makes next year faster. If you store in a hot Florida garage, we tell you which pieces will not survive.
